An up date on Wayne's Trapper Pack Basket
Well Wayne got the pouches and posted some pictures of them on the basket, and how else he could use them. Like on his Frost River pack!

Pimpin Wayne's Pack Basket
Wayne Oran got with me and wanted to add some pouches to his already kick ass Pack Basket. He gave me a general idea of how big they should be and what not. And Sent along a couple of Skog's patches and some hand forged buckles that Donk made for him as well as some beaver fur Croatoan had gifted him........these are what I came up with......(Sorry no pics on the basket, as I don't own one........yet!)
These are made of tanned elk hide, with some deer rawhide accents and rubbed with bear fat.

Forged knife and rawhide neck sheath
Knife forged from file by Rwfred, stacked leather and elk antler handle with brass guard. Sheath is deer rawhide over veg tanned leather. With hand forged awl in the back, and small fire steel in the front. The little bundle contains vasoline soaked cottonball, just incase. Also a large sail needle tucked away in the welt. Neck lanyard is braided hemp, with deer antler toggle.

Making rawhide.
Some already know, but to those that don't I make all my own rawhide. Mostly deer, but some elk and antelope when I get a hold of the hides.
Here are the latest, since it was nice last week, and they unfroze!
And since I am making these just for sheath work, I am able to put some character in them, that bought ones dont have. I didn't scrape all the hair form the edges, so I can use them for the fronts of sheaths. And I have found that how the dye goes in, depends on how much scraping you do on the hide.

Rawhide sheath, with a beautiful stack leather and stag knife.
Made this one up just to offer for sale, in an effort to get my work into peoples hands without a wait list. The knife came from a fellow on BushcraftUSA goes by RWfred, great work on his blades. I have another to do as well. Might have to keep that one
Again this one has a hidden ferro rod and a sail neddle.
